Dear Fellow Michiganians,

I am Judge Deborah Thomas, and I am requesting your support of my candidacy for Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court in the November 2008 election. Your support of my 2008 campaign is important. The need for change on the current Michigan Supreme Court is essential to upholding the rights of Michiganians in the areas of environmental law, consumer protection law and restoring access to the court i.e. standing to come before the court.

Currently, I am a sitting judge in the Wayne County Circuit Court, now serving my 14th year. I ran for the Michigan Supreme Court in 2004. I am proud to report that with the campaign spending just over $28,000.00, I received one million two hundred sixty one thousand six hundred and thirty five (1,261,635) votes in just a seven week campaign period.

I have continued to visit with fellow Michiganians throughout the state for the past four years, discussing the current state of the Michigan Supreme Court, and the need for change. With your continued support and the support of your organization, I hope to increase that number and be elected a Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.
